Western fast foods, especially pizza, are not popular in Vietnam.
This is simply because we have a variety of delicious street foods.

As pizza started getting more attention from Vietnamese people,
more and more pizza restaurants opened where I live.

I wanted to try them, but the problem was there were too
many restaurants to choose from.

One time, I went out with my girlfriend. I got attracted
to a restaurant that looked very nice, but my girlfriend said no.

I asked why.

She said that good restaurants always have a big crowd waiting for seats.
The one I chose looked nice, but there were very few customers inside.

I listened to her, and we waited for 30 minutes before we got a table.

I was tired of waiting, but the pizza was very good.

The next time I went out with my parents, I told them
about how tasty pizza was, and I wanted them to try it.

My parents are pretty old, so they couldn’t stand and wait for too long.
So I decided to pick a nice pizza restaurant with very few customers.

The pizza was pretty cold and not nearly as tasty as
the one I had with my girlfriend.

My girlfriend was right about picking restaurants.

The chance of having bad food is very high if a restaurant
doesn’t have a crowd of customers waiting outside.

This doesn’t just apply to brick-and-mortar businesses;
online businesses are judged the same way.

People are more likely to buy your products or join your community
if they see others doing the same.

This is called the "herd effect" or "social proof."

Derrick, you have a nice website, but it doesn’t look active with people
coming and going.

As an internet marketer and app developer, i felt the need

in the form of popup messages.
